The 小蓝视频 polled 194 readers and asked the question: How much have you been impacted by the closure of Brennan Park Pool?
For context, following a report from a patron at Brennan Park Rec Centre, it was closed on Jan. 17.
The District said it was conducting an assessment of the slip-resistance of the tiled surfaces in the steam room and pool area.
Vancouver Coastal Health was said to be advising muni staff through the process.
Feb. 12, the District said that after a safety inspection, Vancouver Coastal Health determined that the Brennan Park Pool deck did not meet the required anti-slip standards for wet surfaces and ordered an immediate pool closure until further notice as a health and safety precaution.
The closure was said to last at least one month.
The 小蓝视频's poll on the issue ran from 2/20/2025 to 3/1/2025.
Of the 194 votes, we can determine that 118 are from within the community. (Because providing where you live is optional, it is likely more folks who took the survey are local than this.)
About 50% of those who took the poll say they are either somewhat, very or extremely impacted by the closure.
