Montreal police investigate suspicious death involving vehicle fire

MONTREAL — Police in Montreal have recovered a body from the trunk of a car found torched Sunday in the borough of Ville-Marie. The fire was reported around 9 p.m.

MONTREAL — Police in Montreal have recovered a body from the trunk of a car found torched Sunday in the borough of  Ville-Marie.

The fire was reported around 9 p.m. and the car was found on Versailles Street, not far from Lucien-L’Allier subway station.

Police set up a perimeter around the vehicle, and the street was closed between Saint-Jacques and Saint-Antoine streets. 

The investigation has been turned over to the major crimes unit.

Arson investigators and forensics technicians have been called in.
