Vancouver weather: Above-average temperatures to follow rain event

Highs up to 4 C higher than the seasonal average are expected.

Vancouverites should see some above-average temperatures this week following Monday's wet start.

The Vancouver weather forecast includes a couple of wet days ahead of a long stretch of sunshine and temperatures up to 4 C above average.

Starting Monday, Aug. 26, V.I.A.'s Weatherhood station shows a high of 20 C and a low of 15 C with up to 16 mm of rainfall. Tuesday looks like it will be slightly cooler, with a high of 17 C and a low of 12 C; up to 4 mm of precipitation is expected (see slide two).

Environment Canada Meteorologist Ken Dosanjh told V.I.A. in an last week that a second rain event was expected on Monday night heading into Tuesday that wouldn't be as productive as last Friday's storm. 

Environment Canada issued a rainfall warning on Friday warning of possible flash floods as upwards of 40 mm of precipitation fell in the city.

7-day Vancouver weather forecast 

Conditions are expected to clear on Wednesday, with a mix of sun and cloud, a high of 18 C, and a low of 12 expected. 

Thursday is expected to see sunshine and temperatures climb to 23 C, while Friday's forecast includes a high of 25 C with a mix of sun and cloud. 

The weekend forecast includes even warmer temperatures, with a mix of sun and cloud and highs reaching 25 C expected on Saturday and Sunday.
