RCMP walk back their call for the public to identify two men, saying that the pair have been identified and found to not be doing anything with criminal intent.

RCMP have walked back their call for the public to identify two men, saying that the pair have been identified and found to not be doing anything criminal.

"Squamish RCMP have identified the two men from a previous news release and have determined there was no intent of and no criminal activity in this matter, and wish to thank the public and our community partners for assistance,"  said Cpl. Angela Kermer of the Squamish RCMP.

Squamish RCMP are seeking two men who boated onto the site for alleged trespassing and mischief.

“We ask anyone who may have seen anything to contact us,” said Cpl. Angela Kermer of the Squamish RCMP in a news release. “Sometimes people think their information is too small or not useful, but every piece helps investigators connect the parts to complete the picture.”

Police say two men arrived at the Woodfibre LNG site on July 19 at around 10 a.m., drove a company ambulance offsite, and stole a fire extinguisher and an axe.
