Woodfibre LNG announces funding recipients

As part of its Community Partnership Program, Squamish LNG company supplied $151,000 to 42 non-profits in the region.

Woodfibre LNG has announced the recipients of its 2023 Community Partnership Program.

 

The partnership program was opened in early January, according to a news release from Woodfibre LNG, and invited Squamish and other Sea to Sky non-profits to apply for funding.

 

In total, the company supplied $151,000 to 42 local non-profits.

The amount supplied to each non-profit was not disclosed.

The recipients are below:

  • Squamish Helping Hands Society
  • Squamish Search and Rescue
  • Whistler Blackcomb Foundation Society
  • Royal Canadian Marine Sear and Rescue Station 14 Gibsons/Gibsons Marine Rescue Society
  • SD48 – Sea to Sky (Howe Sound Secondary Robotics)
  • Squamish Lions Club
  • Royal Canadian Legion Branch #277 (Squamish)
  • Howe Sound Secondary School – Outdoor Education Program

"We are pleased to support so many hardworking organizations in Squamish through our Community Partnership Program," said Christine Kennedy, Woodfibre LNG president, in the news release. "Woodfibre LNG will be part of the community of Squamish over the long term, and it is a priority for us to support the important work of local non-profit organizations.”

This funding provided is on top of a previous $20,000 and $10,000 committed to Howe Sound Secondary and the Squamish Food Bank from earlier this year. The new release states that another round of the Community Partnership Program will open in September 2023.
