A car crash at 11:45 p.m. Friday night knocked out power to hundreds of homes in parts of Squamish.
The outage impacted power South of Garibaldi Way, West of Glenalder Place, East of Government Road, North of Highway 99.
On Saturday morning, about 800 homes remained without power.
As of 4: 30 p.m. on Saturday, 19 residences were still in the dark.
Power was fully restored to all by 7 p.m. Aug. 5, according to 小蓝视频Hydro.
RCMP Insp. Robert Dykstra told The 小蓝视频 that last night, members of the Sea to Sky RCMP Squamish detachment responded to a single-vehicle crash on Government Road where a vehicle lost control and hit a power pole, causing the substantial power outages in town.
The cause of the vehicle losing control is under investigation, but alcohol is suspected to be a factor, Dykstra said.
The driver was transported to Lions Gate Hospital by paramedics with non-life-threatening injuries, and no one else was involved or hurt in the incident, he added.
"While this incident is still under investigation, I'd like to take the opportunity to remind our communities that speed, distracted driving, and driving while impaired are the main causes of death and serious injury on our roads," he said. "Be respectful of others when you get behind the steering wheel of a vehicle. Don't talk and text on your phone, slow down, and if you are using intoxicating substances, take a taxi or just don't drive. We want everyone to enjoy the rest of the summer and get home safe," he said.
